DFG approves a fourth funding phase for the FID Jewish Studies
The German Research Foundation has approved a new three-year funding phase for the FID Jüdische Studien, with up to two million euros for the central research information infrastructure for Jewish and Israel Studies.
Mannheim Technical University is a partner in the project alongside the University Library Johann Christian Senckenberg in Frankfurt am Main and the State and University Library Hamburg. In Mannheim, the work continues on JudaicaLink, the Linked Open Data service that connects and curates specialised data resources for Jewish Studies through a knowledge graph and curated authority data. JudaicaLink is integrated into the information portal of the FID.
The funding period runs from 2026 to 2028. For JudaicaLink the focus lies on consolidating the service for long-term operation and on opening it up further, in particular towards Wikidata, so that researchers can contribute to the data themselves.
