Workshop: Wikidata, GND, GeoNames & Co – authority data in Jewish Studies
The FID Jewish Studies and the academy project Buber-Korrespondenzen Digital held a workshop on the potential of authority data, on 30 September and 1 October 2024 at Goethe University Frankfurt.
Around 25 researchers and library professionals took part. The programme covered data services for research, the GND within the National Research Data Infrastructure, and Buber-Korrespondenzen Digital as a worked example, alongside hands-on sessions on data curation and a tour of the Hebraica and Judaica collections.
For JudaicaLink the workshop was more than a presentation opportunity. The wish to work with openly curated, collaboratively maintained data, expressed clearly by the participants, is one of the reasons why the integration with Wikidata has become a focus of our current work.
